Screen printing – Durable and colour-intensive printing technique for textiles

Screen printing is a printing process in which liquid textile dye is pressed through a fine-mesh screen to transfer a motif, which has been previously exposed to UV light, onto the textile. This process allows for the reproduction of fine details and is particularly suitable for large-scale and colour-intensive designs. Cotton and polyester fabrics are particularly well suited as they absorb the ink excellently and reproduce the colours brilliantly.

Our logo service: At Avanta, we offer a wide range of products suitable for screen printing, such as T-Shirtscotton bags (cloth bag), Poloshirts und Workwear. You can order directly from our online shop and request your logo print. From product selection to final finishing –everything from a single source.

Advantages of Screen Printing:

  • Cost-effective for large quantities: Screen printing is particularly suitable for large order volumes, as the cost per unit decreases with higher quantities.
  • Durability: Screen prints are extremely durable and retain their color intensity even after many washes.
  • Vibrant colors: Screen printing allows the use of intense, vivid colors, especially on dark fabrics.
  • Versatility: Screen printing can be applied to various products such as T-shirts, mugs, and cotton bags.

Disadvantages of Screen Printing:

  • High setup time and costs: Each color in a design requires a separate screen, making the process time-consuming and costly— especially for small production runs.
  • Limited flexibility for small orders: Due to the high setup costs, screen printing is less suitable for small quantities.

Transfer Printing: Flock, Flex, and Digital Printing for Textiles

Transfer printing is a method where designs are applied onto transfer paper and then transferred onto textiles using a heat press. Flock and flex printing are suitable for simple designs with 1-3 colors and small batches, while digital printing allows for full-color designs and gradients, ideal for T-shirts, jerseys, and cotton bags.

Flock and flex printing work best on polyester, nylon, and other synthetic fibers, as these materials withstand heat well and provide a smooth surface. Cotton is also suitable, especially for clear, vivid colors. Digital transfer is most effective on light-colored cotton and polyester fabrics, as they offer a bright base that enhances details and colors

Logo Service: At Avanta, we use transfer printing for workwear, mugs, cotton bags, and more. Choose products from our online shop and submit a request – all from a single source.

Advantages of Flock & Flex Printing:

  • Suitable for small quantities
  • Easily adjustable print sizes
  • Quick modifications to designs
  • Independent of textile color
Disadvantages of Flock & Flex Printing:
  • No gradients or shadows possible
  • Small details or text are difficult to reproduce
  • Limited color availability
  • Restricted washing conditions
Vorteile Digitaldruck:
  • High-resolution, multi-color prints, and gradients possible
  • Quick setup and production for small batches
Advantages of Digital Printing:
  • Print area is not breathable
  • Limited washing conditions

DTG (Direct to Garment) – High-Resolution Direct Printing for Custom Textiles

DTG printing (Direct-to-Garment) is a modern technique where colorful and detailed designs are applied directly to the fabric without the need for films or screens. This method is particularly suitable for cotton and other natural fibers, but not for 100% polyester. With a resolution of up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, we achieve brilliant and durable results.

At Avanta, we offer DTG printing for a wide range of textiles such as T-shirts, polos, cotton bags, and more. Select your products directly in our online shop and send your logo request – all from a single source.

Advantages of DTG Printing::
  • Hohe Detailgenauigkeit: Perfekt für Farbverläufe und feine Details.
  • Schnelle Einrichtung: Ideal für kleine Auflagen und Einzelstücke.
  • Umweltfreundlich: Verwendet wasserbasierte Tinten.

Disadvantages of DTG Printing:
  • Material limitations: Nur für Baumwolle und ähnliche Stoffe geeignet.
  • Cost for large quantities:: Weniger effizient für Massenproduktionen.
  • Care sensitivity: Kann bei häufigem Waschen verblassen

FAQ

We offer screen printing, direct-to-garment (DTG) printing, and transfer printing using flock, flex, and digital printing techniques.

DTG printing allows for vibrant and intricate designs to be printed directly onto textiles without compromising on colors, shadows, or gradients. It supports small order quantities, and design changes can be quickly implemented. The prints are durable and washable, but the method is not suitable for 100% polyester.

In screen printing, liquid textile ink is pushed through a screen to transfer the pre-exposed design onto the fabric. It allows for the application of fine details. Setup, screen, and film costs are included, but color changes may incur additional costs.

Transfer printing includes flock, flex, and digital printing techniques. These are particularly suitable for designs with 1 to 3 colors and quantities below 50 pieces. Flock and flex printing allow for small quantities and easy changes to print sizes and designs. Digital printing is ideal for full-color designs, but small and intricate details or text are difficult to achieve.

Flock & flex printing support small quantities and offer flexibility in print sizes and designs. However, gradients and shadows are not possible, and small details or text cannot be printed. Digital printing allows for thousands of colors and precise gradients, but fine details or text remain challenging to print accurately.
