Berlin 2022 Inclusion Award
The Senator for Integration, Work and Social Affairs, Katja Kipping, together with the President of the State Office for Health and Social Affairs, Michael Thiel, recently presented the state award to four exemplary employers. Three companies were honored for their inclusive employment and one company for its inclusive training. Avanta Textilproduktion & Handel GmbH was honored in the category “Inclusive Employment - Small Companies”. Ömer and Tugba Ayranci have been running the family business, which specializes in custom-made work and promotional textiles, since 2015.

Of the company's five employees, two have a severe disability, although the company is not legally obliged to employ people with disabilities due to its size. One of the employees is a deaf refugee from Afghanistan who cannot speak, write or read.
He learned German sign language in Berlin and was given the opportunity to complete vocational training at Avanta Embroidery. He works in production and carries out his tasks extremely conscientiously and reliably. Senator Katja Kipping praised the company owners for their social commitment and their dedication to the equal participation of people in the labor market in Berlin.
